Travel Information:

 

To Murmansk:
Each Saturday between May 15th and September 15th, Finnair offers a Helsinki-Murmansk "Salmon Shuttle". After September 15th one can fly via Lulea in northern Sweden or Rovaniemi in Finland. Further details on Booking flights are e-mailed to you upon reservation of your fishing tour. For other ways of getting to Murmansk please click on: Transport connections.
Transfer Murmansk / Umba Lodge:
A comfortable and fast bus will carry you to Umba Lodge, and back to Murmansk. Bus travel-time (one way) is approximately 5 hours.

Transfer Murmansk to Varzuga:  Transportation by helicopter. Helicopter travel-time (including transportation to the heliport) is 2.5 hours.

The World-class Umba Lodge

 

This very comfortable lodge was built by local craftsmen using locally-grown timber. The round central building has a jointed dining and sitting room which is connected to the bedroom accommodation. Ten bedrooms have two single beds each with their own hot water shower and toilet. The dining room has a large open fireplace, comfortable sofas, a well stocked bar, fly tying corner and much more! Close to the waterside you can enjoy the best sauna of Umba area. Located on the shore of the river, the lodge gives more possibilities to fish after regular fishing hours. The boat traffic is directed up stream from the Pig Island ensuring that the best fishing places in the Home Pool are not disturbed.
