Umba Salmon fishing program:

Day 1: Arrive in Murmansk. A comfortable bus will carry you to Umba Lodge. Travel-time to lodge close to Umba is 5 hours. Drinks and snacks are available in the bus during travelling. Arrive at the lodge, room check-in, dinner, meet colleagues and guides for the week and overnight in double rooms.
Day 2 to 7: Breakfast, fishing from the Umba Lodge. You can choose where you like to fish. Transportation can be by foot or boat. Your guide will help you to reach your favourite spot. Lunch during the day and dinner in the evening. Don’t forget to enjoy the excellent sauna from time to time.
Day 8: After an early breakfast transfer to Murmansk by bus. Snacks and drinks are in the bus. Possibility for lunch on Murmansk Airport.

The scenic Umba River flows out of Kanozero Lake and down into the White Sea. It is considered one of the finest rivers in the world for Atlantic Salmon.
 

The Umba River possesses several advantages that make it an obvious choice for the serious salmon angler:
An extended fishing season. The season starts as soon as the rivers are open (usually in late May), and continues through to October. Two different runs of salmon occur during this period, creating a nearly continuous flow of fish entering the system.
Fishing suitable for everyone. Age and skill-level are unimportant- anyone can find an appropriate fishing activity or location. One can have an easy day of fishing from a boat, or a wrestle a huge salmon from the riverbank.
The chance of hooking big salmon - or lots of salmon. During each week of the season there are chances to pull in really big fish, and not just great numbers of smaller salmon.
Safe water conditions. Because the Umba watershed is quite extensive and includes several large lakes and bogs, the water level remains relatively constant. And lack of water is never a problem on this river system.
A well-established and safe program. The Umba salmon-fishing program was started a full decade ago. Our guides know the river like the back of their hands, our fishing boats are always set to go regardless of the weather conditions, the Umba Lodge-Murmansk bus trip is a smooth ride, the lodge food is excellent, and the staff are friendly and helpful.
The newly-built Umba Lodge. This is simply the most comfortable and attractive timber lodge on the Kola Peninsula. The lodge’s riverbank location allows guests access to excellent fishing spots after regular fishing hours. Several of these fishing spots are within 10 minutes of the lodge, including Brad’s Pool and the Doctor’s Pool on the lodge side, and the Bar, the Home Pool or Pig Island reachable by rowboat.
Reasonable prices. Because the Umba salmon-fishing program is not dependent on expensive helicopters, we offer extremely fair prices considering the quality of the accommodation and the fishing.
