Practical Information for travelling in Murmansk Region

Money exchange offices and banks: The EURO and USD are widely used now in our region. In all cities of the Murmansk region any bank can change your currency in roubles. Banks are open from 10 A.M. till 7 P.M. Everywhere in cities and even small villages you can find ATM 's (cashing machines).

Credit-cards: Credit-cards became quite know in Murmansk region. You can use them nowadays at gasoline stations, supermarkets, (large) shops and boutiques. The VISA, MASTER-CARD, EURO-CARD and MAESTRO cards have the basic circulation.

Emergency services: Telephone number of emergency services 112. Dial it and wait until you hear English speaking and then follow the instructions. The Traffic signs for First Aid services and Hospitals are the same as in Europe; a blue squared sign with the red cross in a white background on it. You can find them in the beginning of most of the cities and also traffic signs for repair points of cars and Traffic Police.

Cellular communication: Mobile telephones of the GSM system operate near all large towns of the Murmansk region.
