excursie naar Lovozero

During uw visit we will make a dag excursie naar Lappish dorp Lovozero which was known already in de 16th century. The majority van Kola’s Saami still live in or near this settlement. Two other Noorder nations, the Nentsy en the Komi, whose first families migrated naar de Kola Schiereiland just a century ago, also have their home here. The primary occupation van het inhabitants van Lovozero is rendier farming, but they are also skilled vissermen en jagers, en they know the toendra intimately. They possess a rich, unique folklore en many van them still wear the distinctive en colourful traditional Saami clothing.

This Festival van het noorden (Prazdnik Severa) lasts voor several days en includes several traditional competitions like rendier races en finishes met a famous ski-marathon.

Proposed program

Day 1, 5th van April, Saturday:
Arrive in Moermansk airport. ontmoet up met a guide. Transfer by bus naar a hotel en check-in. Dinner en overnacht at the hotel.

Day 2, 6th van April, Sunday:
Breakfast at the hotel. At 9 AM a bus en hike excursie door Moermansk stad. Make pictures van de highest point van het stad – Alyosha Memorial. Watch rendier races. Lunch in a restaurant. An excursie naar de harbour.

Boating in Kola Bay (optional). Visit naar de regioal Historical Museum. in de evening you have a possibility voor skating in de Ice Palace. Dinner in a restaurant. Overnacht at the hotel.

Day 3, 7th van April, Monday:
Breakfast at the hotel. Watching Saami games en ski Marathon. Visit naar Oceanarium – a water theatre where seals act a thrilling performance. Lunch in a restaurant.  Visit naar Naval Museum. It consists van several expositions about history van Noorder Rusland Navy met pictures, clothes, items en models van ships en submarines. Late afternoon - free time voor shopping en exploring the stad op one’s own. In evening a skating possibility in de Ice Palace. Dinner in a restaurant. Overnacht at the hotel.

Day 4, 8th van April, Tuesday:
Breakfast at the hotel. Bus trip naar Saami dorp Lovozero. ontmoet Saami cultuur en way van life visiting a beautiful Historical museum. Lunch in a hotel café. volksconcert van national Lappish dances. Traditional Lappish dinner made van rendier ontmoet en fresh vis in a traditional Saami dwelling. In evening drive back naar Moermansk. Overnacht at the hotel.

Day 5, 9th van April, Wednesday:
Breakfast at the hotel en check-out. If we have time before the Flight we can visit Ship Museum (optional). Transfer naar Moermansk Airport voor departure.
