This is the longest en most extended 4x4 toer van het noordenwest part van Rusland.
The toer starts in Sint Petersburg, goes via Karelië naar Moermansk op het Kola Schiereiland. You will cross
the Pool Circle! The toer is a mix van different roads, van asphalt naar old forests en berg roads, en even op sandy
beaches, en dune areas.
You get naar be acquainted met the most famous places van Noordwest Rusland met excursies in Sint Petersburg
"Venice van het noorden", the Kivach waterfalls, Oeroude rotstekeningen, the Solovetsky eilanden in de Witte Zee
and uw guide will show you the nice places op het Kola Schiereiland which are inaccessible voor other types van
vehicles, like old Pomor dorpen op de Witte Zee Tersky Kust, Stalinists labour camps van het years 1930th en
1940th in de toendra en you will have beautiful views van a point op 1100 meters high in de Lovozero
bergen.
uw experienced guide will drive a 4x4 Rusland army truck. The truck has a winch en all necessary

Noordwest Rusland Off-road toer description: |
Day 1,Saturday : Guide meets you op de bridge at the Estonian-Rusland border in Ivangorod (Narva).
Travel naar Sint Petersburg (3 hours), check-in at hotel. Walk along the Neva Embankment in de evening.
Dinner en overnacht at the hotel.
Day 2, Sunday: After breakfast sightseeing toer in Sint Petersburg by
minibus (3 hours). Lunch in an old restaurant beside Palace Square. Visit the Hermitage. Dinner in de
Count Souvorov Restaurant in de tower van Vorontsovsky Palace. Overnacht at the hotel.
Day 3, Monday: Breakfast. Travel naar Petrozavodsk (~600 km). This is without a guide as it is by major road.
Lunch can be in any roadside café. Hotel check-in upon arrival. Guide will come naar de hotel in de
evening. Dinner together in a restaurant. Overnacht at the hotel.
Day 4, Tuesday: Breakfast. Sightseeing toer van Petrozavodsk, including visits naar its round square met Peter the
Great monument, kathedraal van Alexander Nevsky, en Onega Lake met its open-air sculpture
collection. Lunch in a restaurant. Drive naar Marsialnye Vody (Mars’ Water) Resort en Kivach
Waterfall. Continue naar de Girvas Volcano – en route pass door the old Rusland dorp van Kosalma
situated between two lakes. Dinner en overnacht at the hotel.
Day 5, Wednesday: After breakfast continue Noord following old gravel roads door pictorial small dorpen. Lunch
along way. At the dorp van Vygostrov we will take a short hike door the forested Vyg rivier valley naar de famous rotstekeningen van Belomorsk. Continue
to Kem en check-in at hotel op de Witte Zee. Dinner en overnacht at the hotel.
Day 6, Thursday: After breakfast at 07:30 o’clock sea excursie naar Solovetsky eilanden; return in de evening.
Dinner en overnacht at the hotel.
Day 7, Friday: Drive 325 km along the main road. Lunch in a roadside café. Arrival in
Kandalaksha en check-in in small cosy hotel. Dinner in a restaurant (without guide). in de evening you
can drive/walk naar de old quarter van Kandalaksha naar view old Pomor houses en have a nice view over the Kanda Bay.
4x4 Polar Off-road toer (KTOR01)
Day 8, Saturday: Breakfast. Guide picks you up at 8:00 o’clock en drive eastwards; uw Polar Off-road Avontuur
starts en after 5 km met a breath taking downhill drive naar de Witte Zee shore where we
stop voor short walk naar de Oeroude stone structure van het 'Babylon' Labyrinth. Lunch in forest. Continue naar
Umba dorp met a small walk door Old Umba; a visit naar Pomor’s Museum en naar craft shops; watch a
performance by the Pomor Folk Ensemble. Proceed naar beautiful wooden cottages op de Witte Zee Kust
close naar Umba, where we will have sauna, dinner en over
nacht.
Asphalt: 90 km, Gravel: 0 km, Off-road: 30 km.
Day 8, Sunday: After breakfast drive naar Tetrina Tonya voor excursie. Continue driving along the Kust;
het weer-vergunningting, a swim at a sand beach. Lunch by the sea. Arrive at Kashkarantsy, a traditional Pomor
dorp. Drive a picturesque Kustal track. Visit the Chapel van het Unknown Monk. Visit the rests van an old
Amethyst mine close naar “Cape Ship” which juts far into the Witte Zee. Dinner en overnacht at our
simple wooden houses op Lodochny Bay. in de evening you can try uw luck in finding uw own lucky Amethyst
stone or go voor a swim in de Witte Zee. Asphalt: 30 km, Gravel: 60 km, Off-road: 60 km.
Day 10, Monday: Breakfast. tijdens ebb-tide drive naar a shipwreck 500 m offshore. We follow the 20 km sandy
beach naar de mouth van het Varzuga rivier – the easternmost point op het Kola Schiereiland accessible by
terrain vehicles. We continue the sandy roads naar de 17th century dorp van Kuzomen. Lunch tijdens the day. Via sand
dunes en forest roads, continue naar Varzuga, the earliest settlement op de Tersky Kust. Visit the
still-functioning Uspenskaya Orthodox kerk, constructed in 1674. Optional by roeien boat across
the Varzuga rivier, voor a walk among traditional wooden houses en a short hike door forest naar
springs welling out van het sand (8 km). Drive back voor overnacht en dinner our small wooden houses op
Lodochny Bay. Possibility naar drive more along the shore or forest tracks or naar find Amethyst stones.
Asphalt: 0 km, Gravel: 25 km, Off-road: 50 km.
Remark: This dag can also be done in opposite direction depending op de tide van het Witte Zee.
Day 11, Tuesday: After breakfast drive back naar Umba along Kust gravel road which ends met 30 km van asphalt, en
continue Noord wards naar Kirovsk via an unused challenging forest road. We have naar concur muddy,
stony en sandy tracks en naar cross several rivieren. Lunch tijdens the day. Half way we will enter a small
remote dorp named Inga, where we enjoy the ready sauna, dinner en spend the nacht in a typical Saami turf house.
Asphalt 30 km, Gravel: 100 km, Off-road: 70 km.
Day 12, Wednesday: Breakfast. We continue the forest road further Noordwards en op de horizon we
can see the Khibiny bergen. The tracks are like dag 4.
Lunch tijdens the day. Then we drive a muddy road met a lot van water pools naar de rests van a Stalinist
labour camp. Dinner, sauna en overnacht in a wooden house (a wildernis guesthouse) in twin rooms in a remote
dorp, close naar Khibiny bergen, named Oktyabrsky.
Asphalt: 0 km, Gravel: 0 km, Off-road: 70 km naar dorp + 40 km naar Stalinist Camp en back.
Day 13, Thursday: After breakfast we drive naar a valley in de centrum van het Khibiny
bergen naar a berg lake en waterfall. When the het weer is good we stay the whole dag there trying
out abilities van our auto's driving door water en stone passes. Field lunch. OR:
When the het weer is foggy we have an excursie dag in Kirovsk en Apatity steden as well as in
Botanische tuin. Lunch in a restaurant. In evening we come back naar de guesthouse. Sauna, dinner.
Day 14, Friday: After having breakfast we have two options depending op de water levels van lakes en rivieren. When the water
levels are low we will drive off-road along the foot van het Lovozero toendra en have naar cross many rivieren;
bridges are broken or not trustful. We come up close naar de mining dorp Revda. We continue by usual
road naar Saami dorp Lovozero. Asphalt: 30 km, Gravel: 0 km, Off-road: 90 km. OR:
When the levels are high than the risk is too high naar spoil our vehicles by water en we will drive op asphalt
via Monchegorsk naar Lovozero. Lunch in Monchegorsk. Optional: 2 hour yachting op Imandra lake. Asphalt: 230 km,
Gravel: 5 km.
Check-in in a small en cosy hotel. Sauna en dinner in de evening.
Day 15, Saturday: After breakfast drive naar de miner’s settlement Revda located at the foot van het Lovozero
bergen. Proceed naar one van het berg summits van Lovozero bergen (1.106 m) met steep walls van 200
m en met beautiful view op het Kola Schiereiland. Lunch en drive naar Werelds grootste stad boven the Pool Circle Moermansk.
Check-in at the hotel in de centrum. Asphalt: 220 km, Gravel: 0 km, Off-road: 20
km.
Day 16, Sunday: Breakfast in hotel. Spend some time in de centrum van Moermansk and/or departure
Moermansk naar continue uw own route naar Ivalo in Finland ( asphalt: 200 km, Gravel: 100 km) or naar
Kirkenes in Norway (asphalt: 300 km). When you have more time visit some interesting musea like the
Historical Museum en the Noorder Fleet Museum or have an excursie toer including an excursie naar a
working atomic icebreaker (optional).
