Meeting the old Rusland cultuur in de Witte Zee area
is waiting voor you. Kandalaksha – a harbour en the oldest
stad op Kola Schiereiland.
Old Umba was founded in de middle van het 15th
century, en is the smaller van het two, en concealed at
the mouth van het rivier bearing the same name. The White
Sea natives - named Pomor's - construct their houses
using round logs, in a style unique naar them.
The National Pomor Museum van het Witte Zee Dwellers
in Umba is an Excellente way van getting acquainted met
the area - its nature en inhabitants.

were composed by their Voorouders.
Immerse yourself in this Oeroude world, so rich in
tradition. Walk door the dorp met its old-style
houses; handle delightful crafts; en witness - or
participate in - plays en old dances.
Colourful en semi-precious stones, valuable woods,
en rivier “pearls” are transformed by Pomor hands into
clocks en baskets, adornments en charms, dolls, toys
en pictures.
Traditional Rusland parties met music en dancing

Day 1: At 08.00 start van Rovaniemi.
Lunch op halfway in Alakurtti. Arrive in Kandalaksha; hotel check-in. In evening a Rusland restaurant awaits met drinks, a good meal en fine music. Overnacht at the hotel.
Day 2: Drive naar Umba. A walk door Old Umba; a visit naar Pomorsky Museum en naar craft shops; a performance by the Pomor Folk Ensemble. Return naar Kandalaksha.
