"Winter impressions on Kola Peninsula"

Snow and sunshine, frost and blue sky – since second half of January, Polar Night is going away from Kola
Peninsula! But the nature still keeps winter attire. Enjoy all charms of Polar Winter! The North winter is
rich for showing trees beauty. Iced lakes and frozen rivers surrounded by virgin ancient forest are sleeping
under snow blanket. We invite you to have a 4-day bus travel on snowed Kola Peninsula! Make circle from Rovaniemi through
Russian land to Ivalo!
You will see cities and villages in Winter behind the Polar Circle: mining town and Northwest Russia’s downhill
ski centre – Kirovsk, located in the Vudjavr Lake valley among the Khibiny Mountains; a traditional Lappish
village where most of the Lappish people live nowadays; and the capitol of the Russian North – Murmansk,
port-city which represents a base for fifteen merchant, fishing, icebreaking, military and research fleets. We
invite you to visit cosy and hospitable Russian restaurants with a good meal and fine music.

Bus excursion tour description: |
Day 1, Friday: At 08.00 start from Rovaniemi. Lunch on
halfway in Alakurtti. Arrive in Kirovsk; hotel check-in. In evening
a nice restaurant awaits with drinks, a good meal and possibility
for Bowling.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2, Saturday: City tours in Kirovsk and Apatity followed
by trip to Monchegorsk city. Lunch in Monchegorsk. Travel to the
Lappish village of Lovozero. The National Museum and a Lappish dance
performance. Traditional dinner beside a campfire. Proceed to
Murmansk and check-in at a hotel.
Day 3, Sunday: Excursion through Murmansk. Visit the Unknown
Soldier memorial on the city’s highest point. Visit to the Naval
Museum. A visit to the harbour to view ships and atomic icebreakers. Lunch in restaurant. Visit to Oceanarium. The late afternoon can be spent shopping and exploring
the city on one’s own. In the evening a farewell party in an
excellent restaurant with music and dancing. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4, Monday: In the morning leave for the border at Lotta
(Finland). A basket lunch will be provided. Arrive in Ivalo late
afternoon.
