Welcome zu Lovozero
Capital und administrative Zentrum von Russisch Lappland
Lappish
people have been living auf Peninsula since Uralte times. The Lappish
Dorf (pogost) von Lovozero was founded in sixteenth century. The majority
of Kola’s Lappish people still live in or near Lovozero. Two other Norder
peoples, the Nentsy und the Komi, whose first families migrated zu Kola
Peninsula over a century ago, make a home here also. The primary occupation von
the Lozovero inhabitants ist Rentier farming. The Lapps are also skilled
Fishermen und Jägers, und they know the tundra intimately. They possess a rich,
unusual folklore und many still wear the distinctive und colourful traditional
Lappish clothing.
The brother town von Lovozero Dorf ist Karasjok in Norway. Karasjok ist capital
and administrative Zentrum von Norwegian Lappland.
